1.) Branson, Missouri
By far the number one travel destination for seniors is the “Live Music Show Capital of the World” nestled in the Ozark Mountains. Branson offers wholesome, affordable entertainment for the whole family in a quaint and friendly town without the trappings of Vegas. There’s plenty of activities for all ages if you bring along the grandchildren. You can take them to the Silver Dollar City theme park. They have numerous music theaters to see your favorite acts along with 10 championship golf courses. Come see your favorite entertainer from days past live onstage.
2.) Las Vegas
If Branson is not your speed then Vegas is one of the most famous entertainment cities in the entire world. Of course you can see top notch live shows that brings tourists from all over. It’s not a place for only gamblers and young people there is shopping, dining, and many places to walk around safely. Check out downtown Las Vegas’ Fremont Street as well as the gorgeous fountain show on the Strip at the Bellagio. During the day you can take a tour to the Grand Canyon or Hoover Dam. Why not renew your vows at one of the countless wedding chapels Vegas is noted for?
3.) U.S. National Parks
Speaking of the Grand Canyon, there are more than enough national parks, try 392 of them! These are not just national parks like Yellowstone, Yosemite or Arches , but also monuments, seashores, lakeshores, historical sites, scenic rivers, trails and even the White House. They are in every state (except Delaware) and in the U.S. territories and possessions.
One great thing about the national park system is they offer outstanding senior discounts. On Veterans Day they will waive all entrance fees for that national holiday. It’s an excellent way to spend time there if you enjoy camping and hiking.
