US News & World Report released the 2019 Best Places to Live in the United States and for the third year in a row, Austin Texas took the golden medal.  The list analyzed 125 metro areas in the country surveying 2,000 American residents to consider various factors such as, desirability, job market and housing affordability. Other factors analyzed included, crime rates, health care and household income.

“Our Northeastern cities, which are epicenters of higher education and economic development, are not growing nearly as much as places in Florida, California and Texas,” Devon Thorsby, real estate editor for U.S. News & World Report, said in a statement. “Plus, they are expensive to live in. Top-ranked places have the characteristics people are looking for, including steady job growth, affordability and a high quality of life.”

Established along the Colorado River, Austin offers numerous outdoor spaces, cultural institutions, music and a unique lifestyle suitable for all ages. Housing affordability, however, is where Austin takes the lead in the list. The city’s house market in comparison to the other cities in the list make Austin the place to be.
